This kit is for BMW N55 & S55 engines.

Compared to the stock N55 and S55 ignition coils the B58 coils are capable of producing 2.3x the energy output while providing a longer spark duration than the Precision Raceworks N55 coils. The B58 coils are a coil on plug design that removes the need for additional spark plug wires and utilizes the same mounting location as the stock coils providing excellent clearance for top mount turbo setups. To mount the B58 coils onto the N55 & S55 engine we've developed billet aluminum brackets that are Made in the USA. Our N55 & S55 Ignition Coil Kit with coils fitted weighs only 3.0 lbs. That's over 50% less than the Precision Raceworks kit. To make installation easier we've designed plug and play connectors that are made of nylon and Made in the USA. This kit comes with new ignition coil boots that are longer than the stock boots. The stock engine cover does fit with this kit.
- 3 x Made in the USA billet aluminum coil brackets
- 6 x Ignition coil boots
- Plug & Play Connector harness made and assembled in the USA (if selected above for purchase)
Our kit now fit all N55 & S55 engines including the early E-series cars.
NOTE: KITS DO NOT COME WITH B58 COILS, you will need to provide those yourself. The B58 ignition coils (OE Part #'s: 12138643360, 12138678438, 12138647463, 12137619385) are typically $36 - 42/each and are available from FCP Euro with their lifetime warranty. If you're feeling cheap I've seen sets of used coils on ebay/forums for around $150.
Love the oem look, idle smooth and no more knock! Best kit!
Just installed today with new b58 plugs also Hit 21 psi on stock gap with no problems. 2014 335i MHD stage 2+ 93 octane. Kit fits well! I was not able to tuck the connectors in as pictured in the instructions but I don't care I don't use the engine cover. Now I want a custom tune & hopefully hit 500 HP. Thank you
I just installed this kit on my single turbo F80 and I can immediately tell a difference. The idle is cleaner and doesn't have any random misfires. The midrange and full throttle is also a little smoother. I'm happy with the kit, and it is definitely an upgrade to the OEM S55 ignition coils. The one thing I will say is that the plug and play wires should be longer.
